Archaeobotany Lab

The Archaeobotany Lab located at the Institute of Archaeology at Jakobi 2 specialises in the analysis of plant macroremains from archaeological excavations and plant microremains—primarily starch grains and phytoliths—recovered from pottery food crusts and dental calculus. The laboratory houses a reference collection focused mainly on Estonian plants, including a wide range of different plant parts.
